Interviewer : Vous recevez des instructions finales ?

Bill : Oui, tout le monde me dit que c’est dur de conduire. Normalement, je ne m’en soucierais pas, si je devais juste me concentrer sur la conduite, mais nous tournons une vidéo ici ! Le staff va nous expliquer ce qu’il faut faire pendant les prochaines 20 minutes et ensuite on commence à tourner.

Tom : Lorsque l’on mentionne ``Automatisch``, on nous regarde bizarrement et les gens nous disent que ça à l’air stupide… mais c’est génial !

Bill : Si tu fais attention, tu réaliseras que tu te trouves très souvent dans l’automatisme dans ta vie de tous les jours. Et ce spécialement depuis qu’on a fait cette chanson…

Tom : Ok – Laisse-moi expliquer le sens de cette chanson. Durant ce voyage en Afrique du Sud, on a vu dix portes automatiques, ça c’est automatique, ceci est automatique ce sont des voitures automatiques et on dit automatique tellement de fois en une journée. En Allemagne, nous utilisons ``automatique`` comme explications. Les enfants apprennent automatiquement et c’est si automatique…

Bill : Et la plupart du temps, c’est positif…

Tom : Juste, quand les choses viennent automatiquement ça rend la vie plus facile, ce qui est positif.

Bill : Oui, ça la simplifie…

Tom : Le seul moment où ce n’est pas positif, c’est lorsque les choses deviennent automatiques dans une relation ou en amour. Quand tu arrives à un tel point, ça devient un problème et c’est de ça que la chanson parle.

Bill : Oui, c’est ça le message…

Tom : C’est vraiment le seul instant où le mot ``Automatique``craint… dans une relation.

Le producteur dit à Bill de chanter et que les caméras vont tourner autour de lui…

Bill : Ouais c’est cool, mais mes jambes me font mal car ce sont de vrais pantalons en cuir et tu ne peux pas vraiment bouger tes jambes à l’intérieur. Peut-être que j’aurai dû aller à la gym avec les autres…

Georg : Ta performance était méchante !

Bill : Vers la fin, ça a été vraiment épuisant. A part ça… Nous n’avons pas beaucoup tourner mais à chaque prise, ça nous a fait tu bien !

Tom : Nous produisons tout cela d’une manière assez futuriste, je suis fasciné par le fait que l’enregistrement via Internet fonctionne ! Nous avons fait tous les enregistrements en temps réel par le biais d’Internet, c’est complètement fou. Notre producteur était le plus souvent à L.A et nous pouvions se voir l’un l’autre avec nos ordinateurs. Ils pouvaient commencer le play-back, le stopper et enregistrer Bill à travers Internet pendant que nous nous trouvions à Hambourg, en Allemagne.

Tom : Pour notre album précédent, nous étions très penché sur la basse, la batterie, la guitare, et un mauvais chanteur ;-) Et nous devions faire de notre mieux avec cela. Avec ce nouvel album, c’était important de lever un peu le niveau avec le son. Nous avons fait beaucoup de chose sur programme, et nous nous sommes pris de manière différente pour écrire les chansons. Bill et moi-même avons notre propre studio d’enregistrement à la maison donc nous pouvions transmettre nos idées tout de suite – j’ai très peu de connaissance dans le domaine de l’enregistrement - mais c’était suffisant pour produire de petites démos. Nous voulions travailler sur de nouvelles choses, et avons fait beaucoup de programmations sur la basse, nous avons aussi utilisé des synthétiseurs donc notre son à automatiquement changer - Automatic ;-)

Bill : Il fait tellement chaud ici, je fonds. Cette voiture n’a pas de climatiseur.

Tom : Il ne faisait pas autant chaud dans la mienne.

Bill : J’ai trop chaud ! C’était bien, on s’est bien amusé. Nous étions peut-être un peu lent.

Tom : Ouais, j’aurais préféré aller un peu plus vite.

Interviewer : C’était nécessaire d’aller doucement ?

Bill : Oui , nous avons besoin de quelques plans rapprochés.

Bill : Les gens en Allemagne pensent que ça prend une éternité à finir notre nouvel album. Mais vous devez réaliser le fait que jusqu’à la fin de l’année passée, nous étions en tournée pour notre album en anglais ce qui inclus de nombreuses performances. Il était trop tard pour revenir avec de nouvelles chansons, pour avoir ce nouveau sentiment sur scène. Lorsque tu as finalement terminé en studio et que les chansons sont toutes enregistrées, tu as juste envie de sortir tout de suite. T’es impatient de partager les chansons avec le reste du monde !

Tom: Boredom

Bill: I have to say...This time we really took our time to look in which musical-direction we wanted to go...and for this album we just parted the fact to take only guitar, bass and drums...we just tried out some new sounds...

Tom: But i guess...you could still hear Tokio Hotel...

Bill: We actually recorded both languages...german and english ...because it is still important for us to make music in german....Humanoid is our arwaness of life...especialy for Tom and me since we were young ...it was a part of us...and this feeling caught us again during the producition of the album and by writing the songs...and so it was obvious to call the album like that...For example Automatic is about a girl with no true feelings...and she uses to act...and on the cover we wanted to convey this feeling through the robot-arm and the most human ...the heart...It describes the song very good and the feeling...

Tom: The cover is awesome...At first blush...you might think it is very dark...but if you take you time and look on it a bit longer you notice it is not dark...it is very atmosperhric..

Interviewer: You belong to the few german bands with international success.. Why is it?

Tom: It is only because of Georg's hairdo...

Interviewer: Your advertising-partner is nokia..How important are mobil-phones for you? How much do you guys call?

Bill: We call pretty much..of necessity.. our families and friends..i have to confess that i am also one of those who don't leave home without their mobil-phone....

Interview: Who is on your list?

Tom: On my list? Jessica Alba is on top of my list...unfortunatly she is married..so we have to see how we could mange it...

Interview: She is your dreamgirl since america....Still nothing happend

Bill: We didn't put our focus on doing a theme-album..generaly it has to fit together. An album is always something..that you want to do...muscialy too...and from that point it usaly matches...At best..it fits to your current look too. I would say...for us it works simply..

B: Too much fame? Q02: Tom, qu’est-ce qui vous a poussé à faire ce changement difficile de style ?
Bill : C’est moi.
Tom : Oui, c’est Bill …
Bill : Je dois dire que Tom a dû commander de nouvelles casquettes, parce que les anciennes avaient toutes des trous, et il ne pouvait plus les porter.
Tom : Et le meilleur dans tout ça, c’est que j’ai reçu une nouvelle casquette personnalisée. Mais honnêtement, je n’ai pas changé.
Bill : A la maison, il pleurait …
Tom : Oui, je n’avais plus mes dreads et …
Bill : Je l’ai persuadé de se teindre les cheveux en noir.
Tom : C’est faux ça.
Bill : Du coup, il a l’air plus cool maintenant.

Q03: Croyez-vous à la réincarnation après la mort ?
Bill : Oui, mais je ne sais pas si on revient de nouveau sous forme humaine, ou alors sous une autre forme … mais je crois qu’il y a une autre vie après la mort.
Georg : Je l’espère.
Bill : Je pourrais philosopher sur ce sujet pendant des heures.
Tom : Pour moi, l’âme ne meurt jamais.

Q04: Avez-nous été touchés par la mort de Michael Jackson ? Est-ce qu’il a été une inspiration, ou un modèle pour vous ?
Bill : Je ne veux pas m’étaler dessus, parce qu’à mes yeux, c’est mauvais que tout le monde en parle si soudainement et que tout le monde devienne subitement fan de Michael Jackson. Bien sûr, son histoire a d’une manière ou d’une autre touché tout le monde, et bien sûr, c’est triste et terrible. Je pense que les médias devraient cesser d’en parler, et c’est pourquoi nous ne voulons pas trop nous exprimer là-dessus …

Q05: Craignez-vous d’avoir trop de gloire ?
Bill : Non, je vois bien que ça a changé ma vie, mais c’est la raison pour laquelle nous faisons ce métier … Je dois dire que nous sommes un peu tributaires du succès. Bien sûr, tout le monde veut avoir des fans. C’est l’objectif de chaque groupe. Pour cette raison, nous dépendons du succès, nous ne pouvons pas nous détacher de lui.

Bill : Je vois bien le problème …
Tom : Maintenant, tout le monde le sait.
Bill : Quand j’étais petit, j’étais fou amoureux d’une fille …

Q07: Où et comment vous voyez-vous dans trente ans ? Dans une villa avec deux enfants, ou dans un club de rock ?
Tom : Dans un club de rock ?
Georg : Moi, je dirais bien la villa …

Bill : J’espère bien que ce sera la villa, et avec un studio de tatouage. J’aurais mon propre club avec un hôtel, vingt chiens, et bien sûr, je continuerai la musique.

Q08: Avec qui dans le groupe vous souhaiteriez échanger de rôle ?
Gustav : Avec Georg je suis sûr que ça serait bien, c’est le mec le plus relax.
Tom : Moi aussi. Je pense qu’on veut tous échanger avec Georg.
Bill : Oui …
Tom : Parce qu’il la le travail le plus relax. Son instrument es t super simple, il n’a jamais rien à faire.
Georg : Je ne suis pas quelqu’un que vous aimeriez être.
Tom : C’est mieux d’être Georg. Il a en plus trouvé son véritable amour.
Bill : Oui, tout à fait …

Q09: Vous regardez des films d’horreur parfois ? Vous fermez les yeux ?
Bill et Tom : Nous adorons ça.
Tom : J’aime trop les films d’horreur.
Bill : Moi aussi … mais je ferme les yeux quand c’est trop stupide.
Tom : J’aime quand y a des massacres avec du sang.
Bill : J’aime bien le film « Hostel ».
Tom : Oui, « Hostel ».
Georg : C’est trop cliché …
Tom : Oui alors tous les SAW.
Bill : Oh, j’aime vraiment ceux-là aussi, j’en suis fan.

Q10: Quand est-ce qu’un fan va trop loin pour vous ?
Bill : Ce qui nous gène, c’est que tout le monde campe devant notre maison ou notre studio … ça ne nous laisse pas mener une vie normale.
Tom : C’est vrai que c’est dur pour le moment …
Bill : Ceux qui franchissent les limites … et tous ceux qui essaient d’entrer en contact avec nos familles ou nos amis.
Tom : Sinon, tout le reste est permis !

Q11: Vous êtes jaloux de vos fans ?
Bill : Oui, ça doit être juste incroyable d’aller à un concert … ça doit être énorme.
Tom : Je voudrais pouvoir assister à un de nos concerts.
Bill : Oui moi aussi. Je voudrais être dans le public … pouvoir nous voir de ce point de vue, parce que tout le monde est toujours concentré sur lui-même. J’envie nos fans qui ont la chance d’aller en concert avec leurs amis et tout …
